Experience an uplifting lineup of songs reflecting the spirit and history of our nation in the beautiful sanctuary at Colonial Beach Baptist Church. From "The Star-Spangled Banner" to "Battle Hymn of the Republic," each song in our program speaks to the triumphs and struggles of the American experience. Along the way, we'll explore the rich tapestry of American music, including spirituals like "Keep Your Lamps" and "Joshua Fit the Battle of Jericho," as well as folk songs like "Shenandoah" and "Follow the Drinking Gourd."
We'll also pay tribute to the diversity of our nation's people with "Lift Every Voice and Sing," a song often referred to as the Black National Anthem, and "Anthem" from the musical Chess, which speaks to the universal human desire for freedom and self-determination.
